Custom & Bespoke

This section is designed to give you an appreciation of our custom and bespoke pickups.

We have made many unique pickups for all sorts of reasons, from a 600mm long pickup for a Zither, to a pickup designed to amplify just one string. Or how about a humbucker-sized pickup with 3 coils for stereo use, or bass pickups to suit a particular route, or a humbucker with Alnico magnets instead of pole pieces, maybe a tele bridge pickup with bright red string wrap.

Wild and wacky, well yes, but if you want it we can probably make it.

One-off custom work is not cheap, we will work closely with you to produce the best pickup we can but we can only produce a pickup based on the physical limitations you give us, along with a very good description of the tone/sound/response you want.

Some custom work isn’t that complicated. For example, you want a P90 with a big fat sound but also need the same pickup to be more like a traditional P90 - no problem we can tap the coil at the normal sound/power and then overwind for that big sound. All you do is change one pot for a push/pull or push/push type, install the pickup and hey presto one pickup with two distinct tones/voices.
